Honey Boo Boo
Recently one of the most stupid, and one of the best reality shows (at least according to me,) Honey Boo Boo was cancelled. Although the news about this was released a while ago I didn't hear it until recently. When I heard the news I was actually upset, because it was one of my favorite shows that I would watch whenever I felt down, and needed a pick-me-up. It was one of the most grotesque shows I've ever seen yet it was one of the best, because it was hilarious, and it baffled that they were a real family, and that the show wasn't scripted, or planned. Not only that, but at the end of the day they were a family, and you could tell that no matter what they loved each other and I thought that was cool, because you don't see that "loving family" aspect on many reality shows today.
June also known as "Mama" admitted that she was in a relationship with a man who was a previous child molester, and when TLC heard about this they cancelled the show. I personally agree, and respect what TLC did by cancelling the show, because it shows that the daughters well being is more important then views, and money they are making from the show. Even if the man wasn't a threat to the girls it still showed that TLC doesn't believe in airing a man who was once involved in that behavior. I respect that they cancelled the show for that reason, because now a days not every show would.
When I heard the news I was also confused, and upset, because I wanted to know what happened to Sugar Bear. Did they break up? Was she cheating on him? I guess we will never know, but everyone who watches the show can agree that he was a great dad, and a great character on the show. Although TLC is thinking about restarting the show as long as the man is not on it, and out of the girls' life, because they don't want to promote child molestation. I believe if the show comes back on they will lose views. I believe they will lose views, because even though "Mama" is no longer associated with a child molester she was, and those topics don't sit well with people.
Although this was one of my favorite shows I again respect the decision TLC made, and if the show does come back on I can assure you I'll be watching it every week.
